Background Information

Uzbekistan among five Central Asian Countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) with the support of the international donor community has worked toward sustainable land management and reverse land degradation – through the Central Asian Countries Initiative for Land Management (CACILM). CACILM’s goal is to restore. Maintain and enhance the productive functions of land in Central Asia (CA), leading to improved economic and social well-being of those who depend on these resources. The goal is achieved through implementation of measures and interventions reflected in National Programming Framework (NPF) developed in each CA country. This project is one of the multi-country level activities on CACILM implementation which aims capacity building to support the Central Asian Countries’ efforts to halt land degradation by enhancing the capability of each nation to execute their NPFs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Driver will be responsible for the following:
1. Drive private vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel, including international experts, and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items;
2. Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and custom formalities as required;
3. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the private vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, electrolyte levels etc., performs all kind of required repairs at own expenses; ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;
4. Purchase of petrol and other expendable at own expense;
5. Log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc. and report to PM on a monthly basis;
6. Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
7. Perform other duties, as required by Project Manager.

Competencies

  • Having of driving license for category "B"
  • Privately owned vehicle (sedan, i.e. Nexia or equivalent, vehicle manufactured in 2000 or later with installed air conditioner and good work of heating system)
  • Safe driving record
  • Good communication skills, client-orientation, honesty and ability to work in a team

The selected candidate will have to provide a third-party liability insurance

Required Skills and Experience

Education: Secondary education
Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience
Language Requirements: Proficiency in Uzbek and Russian, basic knowledge of English
