Background
In the area of climate change UNDP and the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP) are implementing the project “Third National Communication to UNFCCC”. The main aim of the project is to strengthen the information base, analytical and institutional capacity of the key national institutions to integrate climate change priorities into country development strategies and relevant sector programs. Particular focus in the project implementation is put on carrying out an integrated cross-sectoral assessment of vulnerability and adaptation, particularly relations between the water resources sector/agriculture/health and disaster risk reduction (DRR), in the South-Eastern planning region.
Development of short documentaries on climate change i.e. testimonials from ordinary people on how climate change have affected their lives and what they have done to adapt have been identified as powerful media for raising awareness on this matter.
