| The Resident Coordinator System encompasses all organizations of the United Nations that have operational activities in the country. As the designated Representative of the UN Secretary-General and leader of the UN Country Team (UNCT), the UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC), in consultation with the UNCT, assumes overall responsibility for and coordination of the developmental activities of the UN carried out at country level. This is done in conformity with the objectives and priorities of the host government and in accordance with the mandates and objectives of the various UN organizations. The UNCT is composed of representatives of the UN funds and programmes, specialised agencies and non-resident UN agencies. The UN System in Brazil is composed of 23 specialized agencies, funds, programmes and regional commissions, besides 2 non-resident agencies that, despite not having office in the country, are present through its programmes and projects. The UN Country Team in Brazil has various working structures to ensure a coordinated interagency action in the country, and implement joint activities under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator. The UN Coordination Assistant under the overall supervision of the Resident Coordinator, direct supervision of UN Coordination Analyst and in close cooperation with relevant staff of UNDP and other UN agencies will provide assistance to the execution of the services in the UN Coordination Unit by managing data and providing support to UN activities implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities |

| 1. Supports preparation and implementation of the RC Work Plan focusing on the achievement of the following results: - Preparation of inputs to the RC Work Plan/ reports. Provide support to UN activities implementation -Proper control of the supporting documents for payment from the Support to the Resident Coordination (SRC) fund and other funds for UNCT activities. -Review of the RC funds expenditures and reporting to the direct supervisor. Creation of projects in Atlas, preparation of budget revisions, revision of project award and project status, determination of unutilized funds, operational and financial closure of a project. -Presentation of information for audit of projects. 2. Supporting the capacity of the UN Country Team in Brazil in M&E of the interagency mechanisms: -Ensuring effective revision/supporting preparation of interagency mechanisms ToRs. - Ensuring systematic representation of the RC Office during the regular meetings of interagency mechanisms and help ensure that they follow their annual work plans and M&E plans. -Providing financial monitoring of RC office funds assigned to the interagency mechanisms. 3. Ensures effective support in preparation and implementation of CCA and UNDAF focusing on achievement of the following results: - Collection and presentation of background information for preparation of CCA and UNDAF. -Design and maintenance of various databases on CCA and UNDAF -Assistance to the UN Coordination Analyst in the monitoring and implementation of the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) and interagency work plans. - Provision of assistance to inter-agency working groups. 4. Provides support to effective advocacy of UN activities in close consultation with UNIC and the communication focal points of the UN system focusing on the achievement of the following results: -Maintenance of information on RC system activities. -Preparation of public information materials as requested. - Support to organization of conferences, workshops, retreats and other events.

Experience: 3-5 years of progressively administrative and programme experience at national or international level in international development issues. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
