UNDP’s Office of Human Resources is committed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its online programs and operations policies, guidelines and documents. The HR Policy and Compensation Unit is looking for support to help review and perform quality assurance and organize its HR policy related documents within the corporate platform.

Duties and Responsibilities

The purpose of the internship is to support the HR Policy and Compensation Unit in the review and analysis of the available HR policies and documents to gain an overview of its operations and policies in the day-to-day business activities.

The duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Review, arrange, identify and consolidate policy related documents by subject matter for a ‘one-stop-shop’ inventory for staff access;
  • Support HR Specialist by providing complete inventory of policy documents and identify gaps;
  • Performing quality assurance on migrated policies in French and/or Spanish, for publication;
  • Identify and update inactive links, quality assurance;
  • Identify terminology inconsistencies within policies;
  • Research corporate platform for response variations on key subject topics;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) at the time of application and during the internship (if a candidate is graduating before the internship period begins, they are no longer eligible); or
  • Have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree, if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages;
  • Not to have graduated prior to the beginning of the internship.

Important information:

Interns are not financially remunerated by UNDP.

UNDP accepts no responsibility for the medical and life insurance of the intern or costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during an internship.   The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with UNDP but to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship.\

  • A copy of his/her most recent resume or curriculum vitae;
  • An official letter from his/her university confirming current enrollment and graduation date;
  • A copy of his/her school transcript;
  • A letter of endorsement from a senior faculty member who has directly supervised the student in the recent past and who is fully acquainted with the student's performance; and
  • A brief paper setting out the reasons why he/she is seeking an internship with UNDP and what is expected from the experience;
  • A copy of the passport and the applicable visa.
