Antecedentes
In order to address this need, the CRM-TASP has undertaken a climate risk assessment with a focus on agriculture sector in Mozambique. The draft assessment report has been prepared on the basis of a broad-brush analysis of hydro-met data/information, interactions with key stakeholders and other inputs. However, with a view to strengthen and validate the findings/recommendations, it is considered essential to review the draft assessment report from a more analytical perspective and validate the findings through multi-stakeholder interactions and peer review process.
Deberes y responsabilidades
The Consultant will liaise with the relevant stakeholders in-country and will be responsible for the: reviewthe assessment of overall climate risks and impacts with reference to the agriculture sector and in the context of latest work on climate variability and change in the country; the national institutional, policy and capacity landscape for climate risk management by analysing existing instruments to assess their ability to address challenges posed by climate change and suggest requisite changes to meet the existing and emerging requirements; the climate risk management options interacting with key national nodal agencies to validate the findings; recommend linking climate risk management work with overall risk reduction and development agenda in the country and facilitate a national stakeholder consultation, if required to validate the CRM assessment report and its findings.
The Consultant will submit a revised and updated draft of climate risk assessment report to UNDP CO with evidence-based analysis and practical recommendations.

- Competence to harmonize DRR-CCA approaches and ability to integrate them with development processes and programs;
- Ability to undertake institutional, policy and capacity analysis including familiarity with capacity assessment and development tools and practices;
- Strong knowledge of practices like disaster risk reduction, environment, adaptation, governance and their interface with climate risk management practice and an ability to adopt a cross-practice approach;
- Strong technical understanding of climate variability and change processes and their impacts.

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas
- Master's Degree or higher in climate science, environment, disaster risk reduction, development and/or related field;
- At least 3 years of experience in disaster risk management, environment management, climate policy and science and related experience of harmonizing DRR-CCA approaches or working on disaster/climate interface with poverty reduction, sustainable development etc;.
- The Consultant should have cross-practice expertise and experience on disaster and climate risk management issues and their interface with development, natural resource management, etc.
- Fluency (both written and spoken) in English and ability to communicate in Portuguese is a must.
