Background |

| UNDP invites applications from energetic, motivated and proactive students for internship programme. Currently internships are open in the following UNDP units: Communications Unit and Operations Department. The UNDP internship programme offers an outstanding graduate-level student the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to UN and UNDP's work with the objective of deepening his/her knowledge and understanding of UN’s goals, principles and activities. It is designed to complement communication-oriented studies with practical experience in various professional aspects. Interns are not financially remunerated by the UN. Under the overall guidance of the Unit Head, the Intern provides the support in carrying out the communication related issues ensuring high quality of work and timely service delivery.

Required Skills and Experience |

Education: Applicants shall be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school at the time of application and during the internship; or have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree, if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages. For internship in UN Department of Public Information (UNDPI) enrollment in Journalism, Public Relations or related graduate programme would be considered as an advantage. Experience: Experience with media environment and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) would be preferable. Language Requirements: Fluency in Ukrainian/Russian and English UNDP accepts no responsibility for the medical and life insurance of the intern or costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during an internship. Applicants for internship must therefore carry adequate and regular medical and life insurance. Proof of medical coverage/visa must be provided before the internship commences.
