Background

The Brazilian Network of the Global Compact, with the help of UNDP Brazil Communications Unit, is being built to enforce the Network’s presence in the country through marketing actions, virtual platforms (website and major social media platforms) as well as media outreach inside Brazil. The Brazilian Network of the Global compact is one of the largest in the world and its communications strategy is at the core of its priorities for the years to come.

Besides promoting the local network’s actions, initiatives and events – all linked to the Global Compact ten principals – the communications strategy will also help the Brazilian Network of the Global Compact to improve its internal communications and its outreach amongst existing and future partners. A communications strategy tightly linked to program priorities will help position the Brazilian Network in key corporate sustainability areas as a leader in ways that boosts demand for various service lines and increase overall business opportunities.

Other urgent demand of CBPG (Brazilian Global Compact Committee in Portuguese) is the necessity of nonstop overview and control of partnerships fundraising and marketing materials. This knowledge aligned to sustainability background can definitely help CBPG to enhance it representativeness in Brazil, amplifying national reach and attracting more financial resources to support CBPG actions.


Duties and Responsibilities

Summary of Key Functions:

Under the direct supervision of the GLOBAL COMPACT EXECUTIVE SECRETARY and guidance of the UNDP COMMUNICATIONS ANALYST the Administrative Assistant will mediate CBPGs Communications Task Force demands, undertaking the following tasks: Support the implementation of the CBPG strategic plan, regarding all financial aspects, and implement communication and advocacy strategies for the Local Network of the Global Compact to increase standing and awareness of the Global Compact with partners, the media and the public:

Elaborate marketing strategy for CBPG;

Research and analysis of statistical data from internal and external sources;

Preparation of media briefings for the Global Compact representatives before media interviews and press conferences;

Conduct photo, audio and video productions according to the Local Network activities;

Prepare reports, press releases, and other relevant internal and external communication documents;

Dissemination of information and publications; assistance at public events such as roundtable discussions, press conferences, briefing sessions, interviews;

Maintenance of information database, audiovisual library as well as equivalent content on social media platforms;

Collection of information, preparation of content for the Global Compact web site in Portuguese and its social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Flickr, etc);

Monitor media stories, news items and debates on key corporate sustainability issues directly and indirectly linked to the Global Compact and UNDP goals and priorities;

Create mailing list with strategic media contacts, conduct media follow-up and prospect of interviews, reports and articles that promote the Global Compact image and reputation

Maintain, develop and monitor the presence of the Brazilian Network of the Global Compact on social networks, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and others;

Create posters and similar visual content for online distribution and sharing;

Planning, executing and monitoring of social media marketing campaigns;

Evaluate target audiences, key stakeholders and digital influencers for social media accounts;

Creation analytic reports with website and social media statistics;

> Conduct administrative and logistical support to communications activities:

Administrative and logistical support related to the communications activities, including initiatives such as media workshops, press briefings, report launches, etc.

Review of translations, contacts with service providers and other suppliers to ensure adequate production of materials;

Help maintain updated calendar of activities associated with annual Global Compact, UNDP and UN celebrations, activities and events;

> Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing:

Identification, documenting and drafting of best practices and lessons learned, including monthly reports on main activities performed;

Work in close collaboration with members of the CBPGs Communications Task Force and the Executive Secretariat, as required.

Efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNDP Brazil Communication Unit in the accomplishment of its goals and functions;

Professionalism: very good writing skills, sound judgment and discretion. Planning and organizing skills: ability to prioritize and organize work under pressure. Teamwork: good interpersonal skills to maintain effective and harmonious working relations in a multi-cultural and ethnic environment with respect to diversity. Communications: very good spoken and written communication skills. Ability to breakdown complex issues and to communicate them in a clear and concise style.

Produce a series of regularly updated information materials

Help maintain an up-to-date website and social media platforms

Required Skills and Experience

> Qualifications/Requirements:

University Degree in journalism, marketing or social communication;

Two years of progressive experience in corporate communication with focus in corporate sustainability, and management of online social networks.

Brazilian nationality.

> Language Skills:

Fluency in Portuguese and English.

Strong, confident command of both written and oral Portuguese.
