Background

The UN Women Training Centre (TC) located in Santo Domingo provides high-quality training courses, programmes and resources on key issues related to UN Women’s priorities as well as emerging topics. The TC fosters and employs innovative, participatory learning approaches and methodologies and works with diverse partners around the world to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our training services and products. The Training Centre seeks to enlist a full-time intern to support Training and Capacity Analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Training Specialist, the intern will assist the Training Centre with a review and analysis of training activities under the Fund for Gender Equality (FfGE). A work plan with achievements for the duration of the Internship and learning opportunities will be agreed upon.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Review and analysis of training and capacity building initiatives carried out by the Fund for Gender Equality (FfGE) projects;
  • Documentation of lessons learned and good practices from training and capacity building activities and resources materials;
  • Support to the dissemination and communication of selected best practices for training.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should have:

Education:
  • Strong academic background in education, learning, staff development, international development or other related field. Must be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor, or in a Masters degree programme, or be a recent graduate.

Experience:

  • Experience in research and analysis, and working in an international environment is desirable
Language:
  • Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Spanish is an asset.

UN Women Internship Policy:
  • UN Women internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship;
  • All the expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring Government or institution;
  • UN Women accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
  • The intern is responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the duty station where the internship will be performed;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UN WOMEN during the period of the internship or for six months immediately following the expiration date of internship;
  • The intern must provide proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan.
