Background

UNDP implements project “Modernization of the Vocational Education and Training and Extension Systems related to Agriculture in Georgia” with the support of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) which aims to contribute to the development of a system of high quality vocational training and extension services in agriculture that will result in improved livelihoods of the rural population.

Duties and Responsibilities

Logistics Clerk/Driver will work under direct supervision of the Project Manager.

Driving Services:
  • Drives vehicles safely for the transport of project staff and, if required, UNDP and other authorized personnel and goods;
  • Makes regular deliveries parcels, documents etc, between the project office and other offices and institutions;
  • Deals effectively and tactfully with officials and visitors;
  • Takes care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tries etc, perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;
  • Logs official trips, daily mileage, petrol consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc; 
  • Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.

Clerical:
  • Meets official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities as required;
  • Arranges  travel and hotel reservations for the visiting consultants and staff of UNDP;
  • Makes minor purchases and collects urgent purchases from local suppliers as requested for the office use;
  • Collects goods from the customs with due regard to customs regulations and formalities;
  • Collects information on project assets management, maintains records and files on asset management;
  • Maintains files and records relevant to office utilities and maintenance;
  • Provides above services to other project(s) as well if/when required at the decision of management.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Secondary Education;
  • Bachelor's degree in any technical area will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
  • Holding a valid and clean driver’s license;
  • 3 years of work experience  is in the areas of administration, procurement or travel service;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of driving a 4x4 vehicles is a must;International organization driving experience will be an asset;
  • Safe driving record (two references from previous employers);
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair.
Language Requirements:
  • Fluency in Georgian;
  • Knowledge of English basics is a must.
