Nature of Consultancy: Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the direct supervision of the Senior Administrative/Security/Legal Officer, the successful candidate will assist the Mission in providing timely, accurate legal services, and ensure that the legal functions of the Mission are efficiently carried out. S/he will be responsible for the following duties described hereafter.
Devoirs et responsabilités
- Review contracts and agreements necessary for the development and implementation of IOM projects;
- Assist the Senior Administrative/Security/Legal Officer in setting up and maintaining the legal functions of Mission;
- Work on a variety of in-house legal issues;
- Follow up on meetings and conferences relevant to the legal functions of Mission;
- Draft various types of contracts and agreements taking into account IOM’s legal status, IOM’s contract templates and the organizational policies, regulations and rules. Assist units and staff in such activities;
- Provide counsel, inter alia, on legal and contractual issues and ensure that IOM’s activities are implemented in accordance with the IOM Constitution and other relevant provisions. Monitor local legislation requirements and changes therein that may impact the administration of the Mission;
- Train staff on IOM's legal issues in accordance with the organizational policies, regulations and rules;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications et expériences requises
Education
- Completed advanced university degree in Law, Public International Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience, preferably with international organizations;
- High level of computer literacy, good knowledge of MS Office.
Experience
- Experience in contract review;
- Experience in research skills and knowledge of migration issues an advantage;
- Practical experience in one or more of international, administrative, civil or commercial law an advantage.
Languages
- Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.
