Antecedentes

Brief Project Description:  Support the development of a donor coordination web platform, building of an online database and IT tool to improve donor coordination in Ukraine. The database and web platform will serve as a mapping tool of international assistance to Ukraine, would ensure public access to the information and would help the government and development partners to plan, implement and monitor international assistance in Ukraine.
 

Organizational Context: The national UN Volunteer will work under the supervision of the Aid Coordination Expert and the Director of the Department for Coordination of International Assistance, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
 

Conditions of Service: A 6-month contract with possible extension; monthly volunteer living allowance is paid in UAH (equivalent to USD 810) and intended to cover housing, basic needs and utilities; settling-in-grant (if applicable); life, health, and permanent disability insurance; resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
 

Deberes y responsabilidades

Description of Duties:  

  • Assist the development and management of the highest level of content quality and accuracy for the Donor Coordination web platform;
  • Work closely with the Aid Coordination Expert, team members of the Department for Coordination of International Assistance to develop, update and maintain the website content;
  • Ensure that the web platform remains on-brand, user-friendly and dynamic with fresh content and copyedit and proofread all web content;
  • Utilize the multi-media tools to take full advantage of the website’s content development capabilities;
  • Contribute to a consistent visual image, including uniform fonts, formatting, icons, images, layout techniques, and modularization;
  • Apply consistent graphic design, page layout, templates, banners and logos in accordance with the website design;
  • Troubleshoot any problems with the web platform during the initial launch stages;
  • Follow new trends and make suggestions for their integration to improve the web platform in line with newest trends;
  • Train and support web platform users enabling them to publish content;
  • Regularly review user metrics and analytics to report to the team and to guide decisions about content or structure;
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to: 

  • Strengthening their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and taking active part in UNV activities;
  • Getting acquainted with and building on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism;
  • Reflecting on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
  • Contributing articles/write-ups on field experiences and submitting them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.

Results/Expected Output:
 

Developed and operational Web platform with full access to information and projects of international assistance that helps to monitor and plan international aid linking to national needs and priorities. 

Competencias

  • At least 22 years of age; 
  • University degree in IT, web design, visual design, information systems, or related degree; 
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the field of IT and Web development and content management, with strong design background and understanding of modern web standards, communication principles and social media platforms;
  • Applicant must be a citizen of Ukraine or have residence and work permit in Ukraine.

Habilidades y experiencia requeridas

Computer skills: Computer literacy with good knowledge of design, web design, visual design, information systems, or related.
Language skills: fluency in Ukrainian, good spoken and written skills in English.
