The Energy and Environment team of UNDP China office is looking for an intern to assist the communications work of the team, particularly for the areas of climate change and Montreal Protocol. This internship will allow the successful candidate to have the opportunity to gain hand-on experience of projects communications, and to work in a multi-cultural international organization.

Devoirs et responsabilités

The Communications Intern of Energy and Environment Team, under the guidance and direct supervision of the Team leader of Energy and Environment team, will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting /compiling stories from the project management offices, reviewing and revising stories for publication.
  • Assisting in preparing publications/outreaching materials, including but not limited to press release, news articles, briefing papers, issue briefs etc.
  • Assisting in the regular project reports reviewing and information collecting. 
  • Assisting in the translation and proofreading of reports/publications etc.
  • Join ad hoc task forces that require his/her support from the team.

Compétences

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and be an effective team player.
  • Previous experience of work in media and a track record of published work is an asset
  • Good command of MS Office software
  • Proactive, organized and self-motivated.
  • Detail-oriented, able to work under pressure and multi-tasking

Qualifications et expériences requises

  • Collage/graduate student with formal training in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Social Science, Environmental Science or related discipline preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills
  • Familiarity with development issue, in particular climate change and ozone depletion is an asset
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese
