Historique
The World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) in Istanbul in May 2016 is a call to action by the UN Secretary General to find new ways to meet the needs of the 120 million or so people affected by conflicts and disasters. The Summit presents a critical opportunity to reinforce the humanitarian communities’ common endeavor to save lives, prevent and alleviate suffering and uphold human dignity in crises. Heads of State and Government, and stakeholders from multilateral and other humanitarian organizations, the private sector, academia and crisis affected communities will come together to commit to making the changes that are needed to address the most pressing humanitarian challenges of today and tomorrow.
