Background

UN Women is managing the Empower Women Project (www.empowerwomen.org). This online portal connects women and men globally to take action for women’s economic rights and opportunities, and give women a voice as decision makers and leaders.

We are dedicated to empowering women to achieve their full potential. When women and girls are empowered, the world is a more prosperous, healthy and peaceful place for everyone.

Empower Women enables individual women to further their aspirations and economic goals while creating a global community of people who work at the local, national and global level to further women’s economic empowerment.

Our members are women and men from the private sector, civil society, academia, governments and international organizations in more than 190 countries. Many of our members are young women and men students: from high-school to university.

Empower Women provides tools and resources so that women can find decent work, start and grow prosperous organizations and businesses that create equal opportunities for both women and men. We offer unparalleled content, learning resources and community-building tools. Many of our resources are provided by our members, who contribute to our Library and Learning Center.

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the ECA Regional Manager of Empower Women, and through a collaborative working relationship with other members of the Empower Women Team, the Intern will assist the Team with the day-to-day work.
