Background |

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. UN Women is currently implementing an EU-funded Programme “Promoting Women’s Engagement in Peace and Security in Northern Nigeria”. The initiative supports the Federal Government, three Northern States of Nigeria, and selected constituted Local Government Areas (LGAs) to strengthen women’s leadership, advance gender equality and improve protection for women and children in conflict setting One of the Programme deliverables is the review of existing peace architecture in the three states of Adamawa, Gombe and Plateau States. This has been undertaken by a team of researchers and a research report produced.

Duties and Responsibilities |

UN Women requires the services of an Editor to edit the full report for publication and also produce a summarized reports. The current report which combines of all of the findings of the three states is 252 pages Specific tasks and responsibility: Under the overall supervision of the Women Peace and Security , Programme Manager, UN Women
