Background

The UNDP Egypt Country Office is seeking to recruit one intern to support the division in areas related to Innovation for Development.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Innovation for Development Team Leader and Assistant Resident Representative in UNDP Egypt, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support UNDP Egypt’s activities relating to Innovation for Development;
  • Support formulation of programme strategies and implementation of the Country Programme Action Plan;
  • Present background information for formulation of country programme, draft project documents, concept notes, reports, etc;
  • Conduct research on Innovation for Development programmes and their applications around the world, including research on best practices;
  • Develop human interest stories about projects and activities, including contributions to the UN Newsletter where appropriate;
  • Attend staff and programme meetings as appropriate, including taking minutes where requested;
  • Support the I4D Team in maintaining effective correspondence with national and international stakeholders, including donors;
  • Assist the I4D team members in various programmatic and administrative activities upon request;
  • Perform other duties as they arise.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required;

  • Good research and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work in a team.
