Background

The third Human Development Report for Latin America and the Caribbean, on Multidimensional Progress, launched last year, was a key opportunity to position UNDP as an important partner and knowledge source for governments, academics and journalists. Our flagship regional report discusses key elements of well-being beyond income, and beyond living above or below an international poverty line. And is delivering tools for the successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda in each country in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The report’s key messages focuses on what elements have enabled millions of women and men to leave poverty behind in the previous decade—and what factors are crucial to prevent them from falling back into poverty, which is particularly relevant in this moment of economic slowdown and unforeseen crises such as natural disasters and new epidemics. The report also points out to a new generation of public policies that must be put in place to prevent setbacks and to close historic racial, ethnic and gender gaps.

The Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean is seeking a Communications intern to help raise awareness of the report key findings among targeted audiences and the general public through the production of multimedia materials such as animations, visualizations, videos and interactive content for the report.

The intern will report to the RBLAC Communication Specialist and work closely with the Strategy and Analysis Team. The internship is for four months with an opportunity for extension to a maximum of six months. The internship is unpaid and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours).
