Background

UNDP is seeking an enthusiastic graduate student with excellent web skills for its Web Developer/ Communications Internship.  Under the supervision of the Communications Officer, the intern will provide support in the updating of and general maintenance of UNDP Washington Office website. 

Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide assistance to the Communications Officer in updating the UNDP Washington Office website (us.undp.org)
* Work with the Communications officer in the formulation and implementation of new media and web strategies
* Audio/Video recording and editing for webcasts
* Research materials from UNDP intranet and other sources for publication on the website
* Assist in other outreach related activities of the office

Competencies

* Knowledge of Dreamweaver and HTML knowledge/ PHP, CSS and/or XML
* Sound knowledge of video integration (including flash player plug-in integration with social media)
* Audio/Video recording and editing experience
* New Media skills (website integration and strategy)
* Web design experience
* Interest in international development

Required Skills and Experience

(a) Applicants are enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) at the time of application and during the internship; or

(b) Applicants pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree.
