Organizational Setting and Reporting

These positions are located within the UN Women Civil Society Division. The Event and Registration Consultant reports directly to the UN Women Advocacy & Knowledge Management Specialist. The role will be completed from UN Women and United Nations HQ in New York with no requirement for travel. 

Duties and Responsibilities

In line with the approved UN Women Civil Society Division Annual Work Plan (AWP); the CSW62 Event and Registration Consultant/s, will provide support to Commission on the Status of Women events, through the delivery of client oriented support and registration processes. The CSW62 Event and Registration Consultant/s will be responsible for the following:

  1. Provide proactive client-oriented inclusive event and registration management at registration support locations, whilst maintaining support to UN Women advocacy efforts.

Deliverables: The consultant/s will liaise with all appropriate UN Women and UN Department of Safety and Security sections and will coordinate the completion of:

  • Client-oriented presentation, greeting and directing of CSW62 participants.
  • Directing, establishing and monitoring CSW62 registration lines.
  • Provide guidance and general information regarding CSW62 to participants and guests.
  • Identify and assess registration documentation for processing
  • Build relationships and liaise with CSW62 participants, UN Department of Safety and Security and UN Women personnel.
  • Support the implementation of CSW62 registration and ad hoc events support upon request.

Communication: Possesses an array of good communication skills, conveying ideas in a clear, concise and convincing way, accounting for cultural considerations.

Planning and organizing: Ability to plan and organize work to meet imposed deadlines, conflicting priorities, changes in focus; working under pressure, using resources and time efficiently to ensure the completion of deliverables. Must demonstrate the ability to act independently whilst delivering with limited managerial oversight. 

Required Skills and Experience

Education

A University Degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) with a focus on events management, security, international relations, political science, business administration or organizational operations.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of work experience.

Languages

Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
