The HRIS Consultant position will be based in the Human Resources (HR) Division. The UN Women’s HR Division provides strategic guidance and high-quality support and services to employees in partnership with managers to ensure a productive and pleasant work environment. Aligned with HR best practices in the UN common system and the International Civil Service Commission’s Framework for Human Resource Management UN Women is guided by modern, efficient and user-friendly policies and procedures.

The HR team in New York manages and oversees all HR functions for the UN Women global workforce. This includes workplace relations, recruitment and staffing, talent management, contract management and benefits and entitlements as well as workforce planning and HR policy guidance.

The Consultant will participate in the development, testing and roll-out of HR information systems projects and initiatives like Taleo E-Recruitment, Performance Management System, Global Staff validation management, HR reporting. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to HR projects:

  • Participate in the development, testing and roll-out of the new Performance Management System (expected timeline January to December 2019)
  • Provide support with the testing of the phase 2 of the new Global Staff validation system (Q1 2019).
  • Provide end-user assistance to managers and focal points on HR related systems.
  • Assist with the E-Recruitment project, documentation and training materials preparation. Provide end-user support during phased roll out starting Q1 2019.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new reporting requirements mandated by the SG’s new Gender Parity paper.

Prepare HR reports and statistics of high standard:

  • Compile HR data and information and support the analysis of data;
  • In coordination with the HR team, explore innovative ways to improve existing reporting tools and templates.
  • Collaborate with IT on new personnel statistics dashboards and reports.

Assist with the post establishment and reclassification process:

  • Compilation and tracking of the incoming requests
  • Liaison with stakeholders
  • Assistance with the definition of requirements and testing of an automated workflow solution.  

Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as required.

  • Support mailboxes are monitored regularly and requests for assistance are addressed or escalated within agreed timelines.
  • Timely and accurate reports and statistics to support organizational decision-making;
  • Prepared written materials are clear and concise and follow UN Women communication guidelines.
  • Assigned activities and tasks are prioritized and performed within expected deadlines.
  • Testing is performed with great attention to detail and results are documented, issues are escalated to the supervisor within the same day.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • The consultant must have a Master’s Degree in HR Management or other HR related field.

Experience:

  • Good working level knowledge of MS suite, advanced reporting skills in Excel is required.
  • Working knowledge and experience in using SharePoint, creating and editing pages and content.
  • Proven experience in HR data analysis and reporting (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience with Taleo E-Recruitment system or other HR recruitment, and other HR systems is required (minimum 2 years).
  • Previous experience in end-user support is required (minimum 2 years).
  • Previous experience in UN and understanding of HR business processes is required.
  • Knowledge of UN Women systems (Atlas, Personnel Validation) and processes is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of position establishment processes is an advantage. 

Languages:

  • Proven excellence in written and oral communications skills in English is required.
  • Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage but is not required for this role.
