Background

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, and the direct supervision of the Reintegration Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for reintegration activities in countries of origin under EU-funded initiative “Protection and reintegration of returnees along the central Mediterranean migration route” and other AVR program for IOM Mission in Cameroon.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Reintegration and Monitoring of migrants returned within the scope of the EUTF program and other AVR programs (Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Morocco, etc.);
  2. Reintegration and monitoring of the very vulnerable cases especially unaccompanied minors
  3. Maintaining regular contacts with partner missions (sending mission of returnee) and local partners to effectively meet the requirements of project implementation and setup the reintegration scheme;
  4. Gather general information from candidates/potential beneficiaries of reintegration assistance;
  5. Keeping records of relevant project documentation; information on key indicators and progress reports for different stakeholders;
  6. Analysis of the data related to the beneficiaries of reintegration;
  7. Liaise with migrant and local NGO for monitoring of the reintegration grant;
  8. Organising project events and field visits with the participation of institutions and organizations involved in the reintegration process;
  9. Prepare and update relevant information material for migrants on legal procedures and mechanisms on regular migration as well as on the risks of migrating irregularly;

Required Skills and Experience

Education :

  • University degree from an accredited educational institution preferably in social sciences, business and administration with two years of relevant working experience, or

Minimum diploma from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant working experience.

Experience :

  • Previous work experience with international organizations, governmental and diplomatic authorities is an asset;

  • Ability to manage logistic and administrative aspects of projects.

An experience in reintegration and assistance to migrants, refugees is an added advantage
