UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
UN Women in Colombia in accordance with national priorities and international instruments for the protection of women's human rights, mainly the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), works to achieve substantive equality between men and women in all aspects of life, focusing on strengthening the leadership and political and economic empowerment of women and their right to a life free of violence, both in the context of conflict and outside this, as bases for a stable and sustainable peace. In this way, UN Women supports national efforts to make women beneficiaries and main actors in the sustainable development and construction of peace, democracy and security in Colombia.
Reporting to Deputy Representative, the Programme Officer provides programme support to the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Pasto Sub Office by contributing in the programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. S/he supports the delivery of UN Women programmes by analyzing results achieved during implementation and supporting appropriate application of systems and procedures. She/he works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ staff, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate the Pasto Sub Office and Programme/Portfolios
Coordinate the monitoring and reporting on the sub office
Provide technical support to the implementation and management of the Sub Office.
Provide technical inputs to the management of Pasto Sub Office
Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
Provide technical inputs to inter-agency coordination in Pasto Sub Office to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programmes with other partners Pasto Sub Office
Build partnerships and support in developing resource mobilization strategies
Advocate and facilitate knowledge building and management and communication
