Background

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

The Strategic Partnerships Division (SPD) is responsible for proactively driving the positioning of UN Women so that the size, sources and predictability of its resources help the organization achieve its strategic goals. A service centre to UN Women HQ Divisions and Field Offices, SPD is organized into functional clusters, comprising: Resource Mobilization (RM) (including Liaison Offices), Multi-Stakeholder Partner Engagement and Communications and Advocacy. Given the scope and inter-relationships of SPD’s functional responsibilities, the work of SPD is highly synergistic, involving constant and direct interaction and information-sharing among team members, to provide high quality advice, services and support to UN Women.

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Private Sector Engagement, the consultancy will assist on Private Sector Outreach and Engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Packages UN Women’s work vis a vis private sector priorities to inspire investments and impact:
  • Business Intelligence Support for Aviation and Hotel partners to engage in Generation Equality
  • New business outreach to partners identified
  • Tailoring of presentations and briefing notes to support leaders in donor meeting
  • Assist in logistical and operational support including donor pipeline management and provide other assistance as identified during the consultancy.

Deliverables:

  • 5-7 high potential partners identified, contact information sourced, & business intelligence conducted
  • Graphic and Visual Design and Narratives prepared to support donor outreach and communication
  • Tailoring of Pitches and Briefing Notes to support ELT requests.
  • Bi-weekly updating of prospect list and actions taken

Required Skills and Experience

  • University degree, studied academic or professional experience in marketing, PR, business intelligence, international relations or related field.

Experience:

  • Entry level with knowledge of programme and/or project support, resource mobilization, research, and/ or development initiatives in a large international organization. Experience in the UN Common System is preferred.
  • Experience in donor relations and partnership building is required.
  • Capabilities in collating, analyzing and disseminating varied information to different audiences is preferred.
  • Exceptional powerpoint, in-design and graphic experience.

Language:

 ·         Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required. Working knowledge of French, or Spanish desired.
