Background

The UN’s Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is responsible for defining the strategic direction for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to the UN Secretariat. It provides oversight of ICT programmes, budgets and decision-making to ensure alignment with the Secretariat’s overall ICT strategy.

The Enterprise Application Center – Vienna (EAC-VN) along with its New Delhi based Solution and Production Centre forms part of the key delivery pillars of the OICT in keeping with the UN’s revised ICT strategy. As part of this strategy and under the direct supervision of the Head - Technology and Solutions; the SharePoint Online Developer will liaise with the Team Leader, UWP Support for day to day work and be responsible for the following:

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assesses requirements and requests to identify simple yet effective SharePoint Onlineimplementation approaches.
  • Reviews workflows in current legacy applications and proposes approaches to createreplacement solutions using SharePoint Online.
  • Assesses paper-based workflows to identify and implement SharePoint Online workflowsolutions
  • Creates re-usable workflow components in SharePoint Online to shorten developmenteffort/time required in subsequent implementations.
  • Prepares SharePoint Online workflows for roll-out to UNOV/UNODC staff globally and tostaff at other UN Secretariat entities.
  • Reviews approaches, technologies, and code with UNOV/UNODC staff, to ensure ongoingsupport and technological awareness.
  • Collects usage and other uptake tracking information for presentation in dashboards andother reports.

Expected tangible and measurable output(s)/deliverable(s)

  • Development of SharePoint online applications for roll-out to UNOV/UNODC staff and otherUN Secretariat staff;
  • Maintain tracking information for all requests from management, including samplelegacy workflow documentation and SharePoint Online implementationdocumentation.
  • Documentation on the background and work undertaken.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Relevant additional post-secondary education or training in IT, computer science or related field is an asset.

Experience:

  • Three (3) year working experience in SharePoint Online application development.
  • Experience in working with other related Microsoft technologies like Power BI.

Language:

• Fluent in English and Hindi

Evaluation Criteria:

Relevant Experience - 40 Marks;
