Background

The UNDP Eswatini Accelerator Lab is part of a three-year global initiative with a high level of ambition, driven by an innovative approach built on the best of current thinking. The global initiative is a response to the widespread recognition that business-as-usual will not take us to the world we want in 2030 and beyond; and that the development community looks to organizations like UNDP to propose new ways of operating that radically re-imagine and shape 21st century development.

The UNDP Eswatini Accelerator Lab is an effort at creating a new capability for local decision-makers to develop portfolios of mutually reinforcing solutions to tackle complex issues from multiple angles. It is a country-based implementation modality that provides national partners with a set of new services to better tackle sustainable development problems; unleashing the power of local innovation, collective intelligence and experimentation.

Therefore, one of key contributions of the labs is to accelerate learning through conducting experiments around portfolios of solutions rather than individual solutions, which enables learning about what works and doesn’t in weeks or months rather than years.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall guidance of the Resident Representative and direct supervision of the Accelerator Lab team, the Digital marketing consultant will be assigned to the following task(s):  

  • Create Social media and/ or Website (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) business pages for digital advertising for the informal sector
  • Develop audio/visual material for vendor wares to be uploaded
  • Administrate the publishing of vendor wares, revisions of page content, track conversation and feedback from customers and general public,
  • Post promotional messaging on the page daily to make the page active and eye catching
  • Compile reports for management showing results. Use social media page analytics to track data for page visits, sales concluded.
  • Liaise with the vendors about concluded sales achieved through the digital marketing.
  • Engage with the social media page administrators and get promotion/or page boost costs.
  • Provide weekly/monthly qualitative and quantitative analytics report and evaluation on the impact of the online shop
  • Create a regular publishing schedule and promote content through social advertising.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • A Diploma in Digital Marketing or equivalent. A Bachelor Degree in this field will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of working experience in administration of social media pages for Corporate entities.
  • Experience with social media advertising.

Language Requirement:

  • Proficient in written ans spoken English and Siswati.
