Under this Joint Program, the Office of the Resident Coordinator (UNRCO) plays the role of Convening Agency and is accountable for the coordination of programmatic activities that United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will implement. The above-mentioned Participating UN Organizations (PUNOs) are responsible for I) protecting children and youth from the harms of drugs, II) procurement of cancer medicines for children, and III) mainstreaming of women empowerment and the most vulnerable in disaster preparedness and response on a concerted effort to deliver corresponding results. The work plans have been developed jointly by the PUNOs with the national partners.
