|
Background UNDP is committed to diversity and inclusion within its workforce, and encourages all candidates, irrespective of gender, nationality, religious and ethnic backgrounds, including persons living with disabilities, to apply to become a part of the organization. UNDP also has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of the United Nations and UNDP, including sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination. All selected candidates will, therefore, undergo rigorous reference and background checks, and will be expected to adhere to these standards and principles. UNDP works in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean to create an enabling environment where national governments have the capacities for inclusive and sustainable human development; meet their regional commitments, and internationally agreed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNDP’s presence in Barbados is a Multi-Country Office (MCO) that covers the Eastern Caribbean, including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands (BVI), the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Monserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. To improve the MCO overall efficiency and ability to deliver, several ICT and Enterprise projects have been launched globally to streamline the management of digital and other assets. Of note the launch of Office 365 and SharePoint which form the basis of the new Digital Workplace. Purpose and Objective: UNDP Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean has made a strategic shift to the use of ICTs to improve operations, accelerate programming, and inform results-based management. However, this requires additional ICT support and staff training to mobilize resources and prepare staff to leverage the new platforms.
