The Senior Advisor – Diversity and Inclusion provides guidance and advice and leads the implementation of diversity and inclusion programmes within UN Women focusing on race and discrimination, and, in collaboration with other focal points looks at diversity and inclusion issues related to amongst others sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, disability. The objective of the Diversity, Inclusion and Shared Leadership Program is to create an inclusive culture with a commonly understood and practiced set of values and standard of behaviors by all individuals that reflect UN Women's leadership charter, values, and competencies, leading to an environment that is inclusive, free of racial and all other prejudices.

Under the guidance of the Senior Advisor, and in close coordination with the Human Resources Division and the Change Management Team, the OD Analyst will provide high-quality, insightful analysis of UN Women data as the basis for evidence-based decision making and innovative policy & process improvements on issues of diversity and inclusion. The ideal candidate(s) will have excellent skills in quantitative/qualitative analysis, statistics, and database knowledge, is client focused with excellent attention to detail and an ability and proven track record of prioritizing and supporting multiple projects/requests for support simultaneously.

In addition to excellent data analytics capability, it is expected that the incumbent(s) can derive meaningful conclusions and recommendations from the use of quantitative & qualitative data analysis. (S)he presents to and engages effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at HQ as well as UNW offices globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

Gather, compile, and analyze and research data and information related to diversity and inclusion in collaboration with the Senior Advisor, HR, and Change Management

  • Analyze what diversity and inclusion data is currently available and based on provide suggestions on what reports can be developed
  • Review existing data against corporate HR and Diversity and inclusion reporting requirements, such as the Strategic Plan
  • Develop a summary report on the results of previous global workforce surveys
  • Identify ways of improving information delivery and data capture for projects related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Shared Leadership (DEIL) and related employee engagement activities included in the Pathways

Data analytics and reporting

  • Manage People and Change data requirements for any reporting and analysis requests in consultation with EO and HR teams, based on available data.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support data analytics and business intelligence related projects.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, including statistical and graphical material for internal and external clients based on existing data

Practice development and knowledge sharing

  • Identify and understand needs of workforce with the focus on improving accessibility of quality data and meaningful insights.
  • Provide technical inputs to building a solid data infrastructure as a foundation for good corporate data for business analytics purposes and to continuously improve data quality in corporate systems.
  • Provide technical inputs to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned for knowledge building.

Deliverables:

  • Corporate analysis and decision-making tools developed in close partnership with other teams and offices.
  • Timely provision of accurate data for analysis and reporting.
  • Data management project implementation are implemented on time, on scope and on budget.
  • Regular coordination and collaboration with other offices.
  • Knowledge products on data management and systems developed.

Required Skills and Experience

Required Qualifications, Experience, and skills:

  • Master’s degree with at least 2 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of work experience:
    • Degree should be in in business, management, engineering, international affairs, or another related field
    • Work experience should be related to business analysis, management support, change management or other analytics and business intelligence related projects
  • Experience working in data management
  • High level of competency with MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) is required, experience in data management tools such as SQL PowerBI etc. is an advantage
  • Experience working in an international environment is an advantage
  • Ability to communicate ideas and concept clearly and convincingly.
  • Proven conceptual analytical and evaluative skills including the ability to conduct independent research and analysis.
  • Ability to maintain performance under time pressure, prioritizing, planning, and monitoring workload to meet the demands of tight work schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and respond to internal clients’ needs.

 

Language:

Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
