Working in UNDP Country Office in Thailand and under the direct supervision of the UNDP SDG Advisor, the UNDP Research and Coordination Intern will work on the development of digital transformation initiatives, developing visual material to illustrate UNDP’s work and collect and manage data of UNDP’s work in Thailand.

Duties and Responsibilities

The intern will assist in the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver support for technology tools: Assist with producing graphic visuals using visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and knowledge of web design and coding to help develop an online platform to visualize UNDPs work.
  • Graphic Design: develop and create communication material (such as icons, logos, infographics).
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Organize and structure different tasks, good analytical skills in gathering and consolidating data and research for practical implementation.



  • Communications: Assist with UNDP Thailand website to increase digital presence
  • Innovation: Has interest in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for the country office
  • Support other/ad hoc activities as seen relevant and needed.

Required Skills and Experience


Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (newly graduated or in the final year of study) or pursuing a Master’s degree in related field in IT, Graphic design, Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences or related field; or
  • Currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; or
  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or
  • Have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies.

Field of study: IT, Web Design, Graphic Design, Communications, journalism, Social Science or equivalent.  (preferred but not required)


IT skills:

  • Excellent information technology (IT) skills
  • Knowledge of web design
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, familiar with using google website or digital analytics tools
  • Knowledge and a proficient user of Microsoft Office productivity tools;
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic knowledge of website editing.
  • Basic knowledge on Drupal web system is a plus


Language skills:

  • Fluent in English- both written and spoken in addition to native proficiency in Thai required;
  • Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.


  • UNDP will not pay interns for internship but will provide a stipend in the amount of THB 8,302.50 monthly in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP internship policy; all other expenses connected with it will be borne by me or my sponsoring Government or institution;
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship;
  • Interns must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan;
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity;
  • Interns are expected to work full time but flexibility is allowed for education programmes;
  • Interns need to obtain financing for subsistence and make own arrangements for internship.
