Resource Mobilization & Partnerships Team within the External Relations Unit
The Resource Mobilization (RM) & Partnerships team is one of the three functional teams within the External Relations Unit (covering regional RM & Partnerships, Advocacy and Communications) at UN Women’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (UN Women ROAP). The RM & Partnerships team focuses on building partnerships with both public and private sector partners, such as governments, international financial institutions, companies, high-net-worth individuals and foundations. In addition, the RM & Partnerships team supports country offices with their resource mobilization and donor engagement efforts and helps build their capacity through the Regional RM & Partnerships Community of Practice (COP).
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Head of External Relations, the Public Sector Partnerships Consultant will support the development and management of UN Women’s relationships with public sector partners (mainly donor governments, host governments and regional government bodies, international financial institutions, and pooled funds), provide resource mobilization assistance to the regional office and (multi-)country offices in Asia and the Pacific, and contribute to the overall implementation of UN Women ROAP’s RM Strategy and Action Plan 2022-2025.
In light of this, the consultant will perform the following tasks:
- Prepare briefing notes and outreach materials in support of resource mobilization and partnerships engagement activities;
- Organize quarterly Gender Equality Partners Coordination Group meetings;
- Support the development of project proposals and the coordination between involved parties;
- Conduct research into priority areas of public sector partners, identify possible partnerships opportunities, and develop robust donor intelligence materials;
- Support the organization of community calls, webinars, workshops and other activities of the Regional RM & Partnerships COP as relates to public sector partners;
- Support the development, management, and coordination of ROAP’s relationships and engagements with existing and new public sector partners;
- Liaise with UN Women HQ Strategic Partnerships Division/Public Partnerships Section and Liaison Offices;
- Support COs with their RM and partnerships efforts, as requested.

Supervision The consultant will work under the supervision of the Head of External Relations. UN Women will provide the consultant with a work laptop and a workstation if the consultant is based in Bangkok. If home-based/flexible location, then the laptop and workstation will not be provided. In the event that the consultant needs to travel during the consultancy for assignment-related purposes, UN Women will bear the costs of requested travel expenses.
Payments The consultant is expected to work 20 days a month based in Bangkok, Thailand. A monthly rate will be paid upon satisfactory completion of tasks and deliverables that will be summarized in a monthly report. UN Women will cover travel and related visa and terminal fees for Thailand duty station.
