The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for providing leadership, operational support, and oversight of the security management system to enable United Nations system operations through trusted security leadership and solutions. To facilitate this responsibility, a Security Operations Centre (SOC) is established to provide operational support. A SOC is a cost-shared resource, established to support the safety and security of personnel, premises, assets, and operations working for various organizations covered by the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS). The SOC monitors, facilitate, and coordinates the communications of data and voice messages using the Security Communications System (SCS), within one or more operational areas. Additionally, responsibilities can include maintaining administrative data supporting security communications, such as aggregating contact data for UNSMS personnel, offices, vehicles, and emergency services. The SOC operates on a 24/7 basis.

Sharing Information of Security Incidents with United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) and Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) personnel 5. Qualifications et expériences requises |

Education: • A minimum of a High School Diploma. • BA Degree in Business Administration or related fields would be an asset. Experience: • 6 years of work experience related to operational communications and direct interaction with a broad range of clients is required with a high school diploma or 3 years of work experience related to operational communications and direct interaction with a broad range of clients is required with a bachelor’s degree. • Experience supervising small and medium-sized teams is required, including developing work plans based on corporate requirements, overseeing implementation, and providing feedback on the performance of individual team members. • Prior working experience within the UN system, an international organization, or an international INGO is desirable. Language Requirements: • Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Other: • Computer-based tools (MS office suite and other computer-based, web, and smartphone applications) are essential • Possession of a valid driver’s license. • Experience with VHF radio and web-based communications is an asset.
