UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Currently, UN Women Haiti has just revised its 2018-2021 country strategy aimed at achieving four strategic objectives and one normative objective, namely: (i) Strengthen normative and institutional frameworks to repeal discriminatory legislation and reduce electoral violence against women candidates; (ii) Support the participation of women and girls in the design and implementation of gender-sensitive risk reduction strategies and also help them benefit from community resilience and recovery; (iii) improve access to justice services for Haitian women, with a particular focus on victims of violence; (iv) and, support increased participation and leadership of women-led enterprises in the development of climate-resilient agriculture, water, renewable energy, and service markets and help them gain equal access to resources and services. As part of the implementation of this programme, UN Women is seeking to recruit a Deputy Country Representative. Reporting to the Country Representative, UN Women Haiti, the Deputy Country Representative is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Haiti Country Office (CO). The incumbent is responsible for substantially contributing to the design, implementation, management, and oversight of the Country Programme and to the operations supporting its implementation to ensure effective and efficient delivery of results as planned in UN Women’s Strategic Plan and the CO plans.

Duties and Responsibilities |
|
1. Manage the programme team.
2. Provide advisory and specialized technical support on the strategic direction of the office.
3. Represent UN Women in UN system coordination, with a focus on programming.
4. Provide technical support in creation of strategic partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
5. Represent UN Women and support advocacy strategies.
6. Facilitate knowledge management, innovation, and capacity building.
7. Manage personnel under supervision.
