Background

The UNDP Country Office in Rwanda has recently started an effort to reinforce the role of the Communication Unit within the organization and the implementation of their mandate.

This year there have been several new processes set in place by the Communications Unit: Redesign of the website, opening Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and other Social Media, knowledge sharing tools have been introduced, and internal communications systems have been put in place, amongst others.

UNDP Rwanda Country Office as well as its implementing partners collected over the years a great number of pictures, images and audio-video materials, as part of the work done in Rwanda. These materials, however, have not been fully utilized, mainly due to the lack of an organized system to compile, file, and retrieve them. An organized archive will provide for the Web Upgrade Project the required audio visual materials needed to complement the contents to be included.
