Background

UNDP seeks to recruit a Receptionist for its office at Plot 11 Yusuf Lule Road.  The role of the Receptionist is to liaise between the staff and external counterparts by properly handling incoming and outgoing calls and receiving, screening, and guiding visitors. Under the overall guidance of the Deputy Country Director/Operations and direct supervision by the Administrative Associate, the incumbent will be providing services to all UN agencies co-located in the shared premises and will be required to be equally responsive to their needs. 

  • Respond to all incoming calls and transfer them to the relevant staff members and make outgoing calls upon request by staff members;
  • Receive and transmit verbal and written messages to relevant staff members;
  • Receive, screen, and assist visitors by giving them direction and/of information;
  • Assist with registry tasks and keep close collaboration with the Assistant in charge of the Registry;
  • Assist with scheduling of appointments.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
  • Secondary Education;
  • Specific training as Receptionist and/or Secretary or Customer care or Personal Assistant is desirable. 
Experience:
  • Three years of relevant experience;
  • Past work experience with any international organization or Diplomatic Mission is an asset.
Language Requirement:
  • Fluent English;
  • Knowledge of the Local Language is an asset.
