UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
UN Women Jordan Country Office supports the Government of Jordan, international and national stakeholders to respond to the Syrian crisis through gender responsive humanitarian action programming in both refugee camps and host communities. UN Women has three Oasis centers in Zaatari refugee camp and one in Azraq refugee camp and is expanding the Oasis model to host communities. This requires effective monitoring and reporting on progress and results and beneficiaries/users of Oasis center services and coordination with key stakeholders in government, civil society and the international community.
Under the supervision of the Head of Programme Unit, the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist is responsible for managing the monitoring and reporting of beneficiary/user numbers, impact of projects on beneficiaries, including providing technical support to tracking impact on beneficiaries in both refugee camps and host communities as well as supporting colleagues in incorporating monitoring and reporting into programme formulation as well tracking against Strategic Note targets and the reporting of results to internal and external audiences.??
The assignment requires intermittent presence on UN-Women premises in Amman, in refugee camps, and in host communities.
Objective of the Assignment:
To build monitoring and evaluation (M&E) capacity and to foster an M&E (i.e., data-driven) culture.
Scope of the Assignment:
In accordance with UN Women Evaluation monitoring and evaluation guidance, the consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Head of Unit to:

Monitoring and Reporting Requirements:
The progress of the work will be delineated and supervised by the Head of Unit. The consultant will submit a monthly report on the progress of work.
