Background

Under the overall guidance of the Operations Analyst, the incumbent will provide overall support to HR services ensuring high quality of work, accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery. The HR Assistant promotes a client-oriented and consistent with rules and regulations approach in the Unit.
     
The HR Assistant works in close collaboration with the other service center team members in close collaboration with procurement colleagues, as well as other Operations, Programme and projects staff in the CO and UN agencies staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.

Objective of the internship: to provide support to UNDP’s HR unit.

Eligibility for internships in UNDP

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme; enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.


Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures efficient administrative support , focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Preparation of routine letters, correspondence, memoranda and reports in accordance with HR needs;
  • Extracting, inputting, copying and filing data from various sources.
  • Maintenance of proper and efficient filing and organization system for HR records and documents;
  • Support during recruitment processes;
  • Compilation of information for meetings; 
  • Preparation of documents for the cost recovery process;
  • Support in HR/administrative surveys;
  • Tracking of HR processes;
  • Reception of correspondence and delivery to the respective clients/units..

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Enrolled student of a degree programme or completed 4 years of full-time studies at a university in the field of Business or Public Administration, Human Resources or related social sciences.
  • Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.

Experience:  

  • No experience required.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in Portuguese and good working knowledge of English is required.

Interns are not financially remunerated by UNDP.

Conditions of internship:

  • UNDP internship programme does not provide a salary or remuneration for the internship;
  • UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship. 
  • All the expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring government or institutions;
  • Interns are not eligible to apply for, or be appointed to, any post in UNDP during the period of the internship or for six months immediately following the expiration date of the internship;
  • Interns are not staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.

  • Letter confirming University enrolment or copy of completed university degree.
