Background

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the UNDP Country Office, Intern shall provide economic analysis support.

The appointed Intern works in close collaboration with the National Economist.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze current economic situations in Susan.
  • Provide data and economic analysis support to projects under UNDP Programme.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing within UNDP.
  • Support development of concept notes and facilitation of meetings.
  • Perform any other duty as and when required provided by the National Economist.

Required Skills and Experience

Eligibility:

Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
  • Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.

Minimum Qualification and Skills Required:

Education: University degree in international development, Economics or any other relevant discipline.

Interest: Interest in understanding the UNDP way of work and programming principles.

Language Requirements: Excellent English writing and oral skills.
