Les candidats doivent être des ressortissants de Djibouti et avoir une solide expérience de chauffeur au sein d'une institution internationale, d'une organisation gouvernementale, d'une ambassade ou du système des Nations Unies, ainsi qu’une bonne maîtrise du français. Connaissance de l'anglais et de l'arabe souhaitable.

Provide leadership and coordinate support for an expanded UN system response to AIDS at country levels.  Promote, support and provide guidance to partners and the UN system in the region to Fast-Track HIV prevention, treatment, care and support and in the achievement of the goals of the UNAIDS Strategy for 2016 – 2021. Coordinate the development of strategic information and document the trends on the epidemic and the response as well as provide intellectual leadership on the status of the AIDS response in the country.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the responsible Officer, the incumbent provides reliable and safe driving services to the operations and program staff (including consultants) in the Office.

Drive official vehicles for the transport of UNAIDS staff, officials and visitors, meeting personnel and visitors at the airport and assisting them with basic visa and customs formalities when required; and ensure the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.

Ensure cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through adequate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports, as well as the proper day-to-day maintenance, including minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes and water levels, car washing, etc so that the vehicle is clean and in good running condition at all times.

Safe-keep all the required documents/supplies such as insurance, registration papers, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and other spare parts, as well as keeping track of insurance and other tax formalities.

As required, provide informal interpretation services from/to the local language for the official personnel using the car as and if required.

Provide general office assistance to office staff, including but not limited to filing, photocopying and maintaining stocks of stationary; in the mailing and distribution of newsletters and publications; payments of office telephone and other bills, as required.

Provide assistance for in country travels to ensure obtaining timely security clearance and maintain regular communication with UNDSS radio room during the travel.

Liaise with UNDSS to ensure proper functioning of radio communication equipment of the vehicle and follow up maintenance requirements.

Perform other related duties as assigned, including provision of support as required.

Required Skills and Experience

EDUCATION

Essential: Completion of secondary school, or relevant technical or vocational training. Must have a valid and clean driver’s license

Desirable: Training or demonstrated knowledge of vehicle mechanic

 EXPERIENCE

Essential:  A minimum of two years’ experience as driver of officials in an international institution, governmental organization, embassy or UN system with an excellent knowledge of the local traffic rules, regulations and geography.

Desirable:

LANGUAGES

Essential: A good knowledge of French together with that of the local language (where the local language is not an official language).

Desirable: Knowledge of English and Arabic.

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Demonstrated knowledge of the national driving rules and regulations, of local roads and conditions, as well as chauffeur protocol and courtesies.

Skills in minor vehicle repairs together with basic skills in the use of office equipment (e.g. photocopiers.
