The mission of the Human Development Report Office (HDRO) is to advance human development. The goal is to contribute towards the expansion of opportunities, choice and freedom. HDRO works towards this goal by promoting innovative new ideas, advocating practical policy changes, and constructively challenging policies and approaches that constrain human development. HDRO works with others to achieve change through writing and research, data analysis and presentation, and outreach and advocacy work.
The objective of this internship is to provide the intern with the opportunity to learn about the Human Development approach and current international development issues; and investigate and learn about different sources of data that are useful for the work of the office.
In particular, the intern will be able to contribute through research and data analysis to the Human Development Report 2020.
Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will be supervised by the Chief of Statistics or a senior member of the Research team (depending on main area of work) and will work closely with the team on the preparation of the Human Development Report 2020. In particular, they are expected to deliver the following tasks:
Required Skills and Experience
The interns will be responsible for providing his or her own laptop. Internet access and printing facilities will be available at HDRO/UNDP during the internship.
