This position is based within External Relations Unit for the UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP). At the regional office, the External Relations Unit is in charge of building partnerships with private sector entities as well as bilateral partners, non-profit organizations, and the media. PRMAC also provides strategic advice and technical support to both the regional office and country offices in Advocacy and Communications in Asia and the Pacific. The consultant will report directly to the Head of External Relations with indirect reporting to the Regional Advocacy and Campaigns Coordinator for advocacy-related work responsibilities.

 

Devoirs et responsabilités

Under the overall supervision of the Head of External Relations, the External Relations National Consultant will provide technical support work across all external relations functional pillars – Partnerships & RM, Advocacy and Communications. The consultant will also collaborate closely with the Headquarters, Regional, Multi-Country Office and Country Offices’ (RO/MCO/CO) colleagues to ensure communications strategies, media relations and organizational outreach efforts are aligned with corporate communications policies and initiatives. The consultant also collaborates with RO/MCO and CO colleagues to support outreach campaigns, resource mobilization and donor relations initiatives.

 

The consultant will perform the following tasks:

  • Leads on the project management and implementation of specified regional events, supporting the functional pillars as required.
  • Builds and manages relationships with UN Women Asia-Pacific partners that will collaborate and participate in the specified regional events such as Bangkok-based Embassies and associations.
  • In collaboration with RO/CO programme colleagues and the broader External Relations unit, develops pitches and proposals for private sector partners and resource mobilization. The consultant’s specific role will be writing the proposals and pitch materials.
  • Produces communications and marketing materials for the External Relations Unit, especially donor visibility and communications materials and assets.
  • Contributes to the development of the External Relations Unit’s emergency fundraising, communications and advocacy plans; a strong focus will be on the creation of the project management workflow for the unit’s response to emergencies as well as templates.
  • With colleagues in the External Relations Unit, identifies and shares best practices and case studies across the External Relations community in Asia and the Pacific, with a focus on strategic partnerships, advocacy, or communications/marketing.

Qualifications et expériences requises

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, media, arts, or related field preferably with international organizations/companies/film associations.
  • Have strong skills in key message development, visibility, and branding.
  • Demonstrated experience marketing and communications, events, and project management.
  • Experience in writing short, captivating texts for a variety of audiences as well as complex proposals, communications materials, and pitch documents.
  • Track record of building and maintaining relationships with external partners, especially in diverse settings.
  • Design and social media skills are desirable.

Language requirement: Fluency in written and spoken English.

Contract period and work location

The duration of the consultancy starts from 15 October 2021 and ends on 31 March 2022. This consultancy is home-based. Living expenses are to be covered by the consultant. In the event that the consultant needs to travel during the consultancy for assignment-related purposes, the travel cost can be covered related to the work as appropriate in accordance with UN Women ROAP rules and regulations.

Payment

The monthly lump sum will be paid in THB.
