Office/Unit/Project Description

In 2022 it will be fifty years since the first United Nations conference on the human environment was organized – the 1972 Stockholm Conference. The Government of Sweden will host a high-level global Meeting in conjunction with this anniversary from 2-3 June 2022 with the theme: “Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the priority of all - our responsibility, our opportunity,” The objective of the Meeting is to contribute to accelerating a transformation that leads to sustainable and green economies, more jobs, and a healthy planet for all, where No One is Left Behind during the last Decade of Action for the 2030 Agenda. The Government of Sweden, UNDP and UNEP have identified a series of strategic opportunities to help ensure that the Stockholm+50 International Meeting catalyzes greater impact in developing and developed countries. These include preparations leading up to the Conference, the design of the meeting itself, as well as post-Conference follow-up activities and legacy initiatives.

A Global consultation lead is sought to support the entire national consultations.  The consultation lead will have a coordinating role, serving as primary focal point for Stockholm+50 national consultations, ensuring internal and external communications, facilitation and client outreach activities are of high quality and serve the objectives of the initiatives as well as the needs of the stakeholder involved.

The work will be done through the SDG Integration team, reporting to the Policy Specialist, Digital Strategies, he/she is responsible for providing coordination, facilitation, community management, communication, social media, outreach, content management and event management advisory support and training to the client above.

 

Institutional Arrangement

The global consultation lead will report directly to SDG Engagement Specialist in SDG integration team, BPPS. The position sits under the knowledge and learning pillar of the SDG integration team.

Scope of Work

1. Provide overall leadership on Stockholm+50 online ?National consultations on SparkBlue

  • Coordinate the work of SparkBlue Stockholm+50 National Consultations team and responsible for the quality assurance and deliverables;
  • Responsible for the management of SparkBlue for the consultations and liaise directly with technical focal points for upgrades and fixes to the platform.

2. Develop and conduct National Consultation for at least 100 country offices

  • Develop an inception plan and a concept note for the Stockholm+50 National Consultations
  • Develop and disseminate guidelines, templates, frameworks, and procedures for country offices interested in supporting Governments to conduct online National consultation as part of Stockholm+50 initiative;
  • Crowdsource/map country offices interested in ?supporting Governments to conduct online National consultation and provide them with the tools, resources and training needed to conduct the consultations;
  • Train, support and advise National Coordinators and moderators as they encourage and answer comments during the National Consultations and reach out to their private networks to address any pending issues;
  • Responsible for the management and active monitoring of the online discussion rooms leading into the Stockholm+50 initiative to ensure high-quality engagement in pre-identified areas;
  • Review all comments, provide help-desk support to registered country offices;
  • Manage each country’s online space on SparkBlue and ensure that branding and style are similar to those recommended by the communication workstream;
  • Analyze the use of the platform through Google Analytics;
  • Provide advisory support to country offices interested in being part of Stockholm+50 initiative;
  • Provide management updates through consolidated replies on the process and active and upcoming consultations bi-weekly.

3. Support UNDP’s work at the high-level global Meeting in conjunction with this anniversary from 2-3 June 2022

  • Support UNDP Stockholm+50 team to plan and prepare for various sessions on the consultations during the Forum, that incorporates the outcomes of the Consultation;
  • Provide substantive inputs and do quality assurance of the final report for the SparkBlue Stockholm+50 National consultation;
  • Conduct an After-Action Review for UNDP internal learning and reporting;
  • Design visual representation of the consultation data and work with platform developer to create an interactive experience of this data;
  • Design and deliver final post Forum discussions, managing elements such as content, moderators and implementation on the platform.

4. Support with adhoc engagements related to global consultations on SparkBlue

Qualifications et expériences requises

Minimum Academic Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in international development, knowledge management, communications, or other related fields; a bachelor´s degree or equivalent with 2 (two) years of additional relevant work experience may also be considered.

Minimum years of relevant Work experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in knowledge management and/or communications with UNDP or a similar international organization (9 years of experience with bachelor’s degree).

Required skills and competencies:

  • Familiarity with UNDP’s functions, previous KM efforts and change management activities;
  • Experience with managing and facilitating large scale international consultations, online discussions and dialogues;
  • Experience with designing and delivering training on collaboration platforms, community facilitation and knowledge management;
  • Proven experience in drafting communication materials in a style and structure appropriate for online consultations, UNDP or a similar organization;
  • Experience preparing and implementing communications campaigns, in particular online, preferably within the UN system;
  • Experience providing service to a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside the UN system;
  • Strong working experience of knowledge management and collaboration and demonstrated use of social networking platforms for professional purposes;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of KM 2.0 technology, social networking, and collaboration tools in organizational environments;.

Desired additional skills and competencies:

  • Proven experience with managing webinars and live streaming events, including video editing;
  • Broad knowledge of the UN system in general is highly desirable.

Required Language(s) (at working level):

  • Fluency in English;
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
