Historique

On the basis of a joint initiative of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), as well as a recognized need to create space for dialogue and promotion of coexistence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the UN Team in BiH, under the leadership of the Resident Coordinator of the UN, in cooperation with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina have developed a project called "Dialogue for the Future: The promotion of coexistence and diversity in Bosnia and Herzegovina", which is jointly implemented by UN agencies UNESCO, UNICEF and UNDP.

Devoirs et responsabilités

Under the supervision of the UNICEF BiH Education Officer, the national consultant will produce an analysis paper about intercultural peacebuilding education activities implemented within DFF project in Bosnia and Herzegovina by
a) Conducting a desk review and analysis of existing quantitative data on education projects in order to document overall effectiveness and results of these projects on children and youth;
b) And gathering qualitative data through interviews and focus groups in selected locations for the purpose of producing two in-depth case studies.

Key tasks:

  • Gather and analyze data about the results and effects of intercultural education activities;
  • Sampling of NGOs/locations;
  • Develop instruments/questionnaires for project beneficiaries (children, youth, parents, teachers);
  • Develop interview protocols for NGOs;
  • Develop a focus group methodology for project beneficiaries;
  • Sampling of focus groups participants;
  • Conduct interviews and focus groups;
  • Gather responses about the effects of intercultural education programs on children and youth;
  • Write an analysis report (10-15 pages).

Qualifications et expériences requises

  • University degree in Education, social sciences or related field;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the education sector in BiH;
  • Experience in conducting surveys, assessments, evaluation, and research;
  • Experience in work with children and government institutions;
  • Previous experience in focus groups methodology;
  • Excellent knowledge of English language;
  • Previous experience with UN is an asset.
