Office of Resident Coordinator‘s (RC)  in Bamako (Mali) recruit the Resident Coordinator Assistant Officer.

Within limits of delegated authority, Resident Coordinator Assistant Officer will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  Coordination, Facilitation and planning:

  • Prepare and organize the Resident Coordinator‘s (RC) meetings, prepare minutes and monitor follow-up actions as appropriate;
  • Prepare and organise the background note, Talking points and other required substantive materials for the RC mission inside and outside the mission area;
  •  Keep the RC informed about all matters requiring her personal attention;
  •  Supports the Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) to ensure effective support in preparation and implementation of the RC work plan, budget and reporting activities for the RCO and UNCT;
  • Assists in coordinating, documenting discussion and implementations of the outcomes/decisions of meetings, workshops, retreats, missions;
  • Follow up on the progress of the RC activities /issues, commitments made and coordination of submission of reports to RCO;
  • Ensure facilitation of knowledge sharing and management within the country team and with external partners focusing on achievement of results;
  • Maintain contacts with key partners including donors, Government and CSO’s.

Administration and Management:

  • Bring to the attention of the RC all administrative matters requiring the RC’s personal attention and immediate action, 
  •  Provide administrative support to RCO and UNCT activities;
  • Coordinate all administrative/budget issues pertaining to the Front Office and the Pillar;
  • Establish coordinated workflow of information exchange from different agencies, within UNDP and RCO office.

Qualifications et expériences requises

 Education:

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, economics, public administration or related fields;
  • A first-level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience:

  •  A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in coordination, administration, or related area of which should have been gained in the international organisation as required;
  • Previous experience working in the office of a Resident Coordinator, front office and in peacekeeping missions would be an added value.

Languages:

  • English and French are the working languages of UN Secretariat;
  • For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English and French is required.
