Under the guidance and supervision of the HR Director, the HR Intern provides support to HR services ensuring high quality of work, accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery. The HR Intern promotes a client-oriented and consistent with rules and regulations approach in the Unit.

    

The HR Intern works in close collaboration with the Management Support and Business Development, Programme, Operations teams and projects’ staff in the CO staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.

In addition, the HR Intern will learn the different areas that the HR departments handles such as; Trainings, Payroll, Contracts, Events, Employee Grievances and Interviews.

Summary of key functions:

  1. Support to implementation of HR strategies
  2. Support to implementation of HR services
  3. Support to UN-related surveys
  4. Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing

 

 

  1. Provides support to the implementation of HR strategies focusing on achievement of the following results:

 

       2. Full compliance of HR processes and records with UN/UNDP rules, regulations, policies and             strategies.

       3. Provision of inputs to preparation of administrative team results-oriented workplans.

 

        Implements HR services focusing on achievement of the following results:

 

  1. Processing of contracts (100/300 series, SSAs, SCs) and tracking of HR transactions related to positions, recruitment, benefits, earnings/deductions, retroactivity, recoveries, adjustments and separations through Atlas.
  2. Support in event planning
  3. Provision of inputs to the CO staffing table and CO rosters.
  4. Preparation of routine correspondence, faxes, memoranda and reports in accordance with CO SOP.
  5. Extracting, inputting, copying and filing data from various sources.
  6. Maintenance of proper filing system for HR records and documents.6.
  7. Assisting in the compilation of information for CRP.
  8. Assisting in Interviews
  9. Conducting Trainings with the Learning Team

 

 

   Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO focusing on achievement of the following results:

 

  1. Participation in the training for the operations/projects staff on HR.
  2. Contribution to knowledge networks and communities of practice.

  • Good knowledge of administrative rules and regulations
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of clerical, administrative, secretarial best practices and procedures, in-depth knowledge of office software applications relating to word processing data management presentation, ATLAS, as required
  • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of computerized business machines and office equipment in order to provide efficient delivery of service
  • Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks by establishing priorities

Qualifications et expériences requises

Must be enrolled in a University

Must have a valid Health Insurance

Spanish and English knowledge required
