UNDP is increasingly using films to illustrate our projects’ impacts on the ground and in people’s lives. The expansion of online video websites like YouTube and Vimeo has given UNDP a perfect opportunity to reach a growing new audience and communicate about the organization's success stories and issues. These films can also draw attention to UNDP’s work and to countries and development issues that might otherwise be overlooked in international news. UNDP also provides support to government and civil society partners in documenting initiatives aimed at improving people’s ?lives.  

Devoirs et responsabilités

Under the guidance of the UN Coordination Advisor, the Consultant will work closely with programme teams and external vendors on the following:

  • Providing oversight on documenting UNDP projects and results for video and radio;  
  • Overseeing production of high quality documentaries/ video films for UN agencies and civil society partners;
  • Providing oversight on documenting at the request of the government and other partners, initiatives underway aimed at improving the lives of people;
  • Producing radio stories including documentary and interview formats ;
  • Advising on a digital archive (photo/ video/ audio) for the Country Office;
  • Scripting stories for video and radio in both English and hindi ;
  • Developing and implementing dissemination plans for video and audio and other multimedia products ;
  • Linking products with ongoing advocacy work including social media;
  • Ensuring regular inputs to Unifeed, UNDP global youtube channels and other broadcasters;
  • Advising on a video/ photo/ audio archive for the Country Office;
  • Undertaking any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Key deliverables

  • High quality videos for UNDP, UN agencies, partners and government;
  • Produce compelling radio stories for UN Radio, Indian radio channels and so on;
  • Contribute to preparation of RFPs/RFQs/IC Notices for sourcing external video production companies to undertake documentation
  • Dissemination plans for various products;
  • Develop photo/video/ audio archive for the Country Office.

  • Well proven and demonstrated capacity and experience in the field of video documentation;
  • Well proven and demonstrated creativity in producing highly engaging products;
  • Ability to cover several simultaneous requests including in-house and field work;
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to write compelling scripts in Hindi and English;
  • Ability to set clear time plans and well scheduled work processes;
  • Passion for documenting development issues;
  • Previous experience working with a UN agency or in the field of development is an asset.

Qualifications et expériences requises

Academic Qualifications:

  • Degree in Film/Arts/ Communications or relevant qualifications.

Experience:

  • At least 20 years’ experience in television journalism, radio, electronic media.

Language Requirement:

  • An excellent command of English and Hindi is required.

Documents to be submitted.

  • Consultant shall specify his/her per day consultancy rate; any travel with prior UNDP approval will be handled separately as per rules.
  • Updated CV with contact details of three referees

Payment Schedule:

  • Payment would be done monthly for the days worked and submission of monthly report.

Evaluation Criteria:

Cumulative analysis:

The award of the contract shall be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:

Responsive; 

Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation;

  • Technical Criteria weight - 70%;
  • Financial Criteria weight - 30%.

Only candidates obtaining a minimum of 49 points (70% of the total technical points) would be considered for the Financial Evaluation.

Criteria for Technical Evaluation would be as under: 

  • Qualification - 10%
  • Previous Experience in the UN – 25%
  • Relevant work experience in the media -25%
  • Communication skills in Hindi - 10% 

Notes:

  • Any kind of miscellaneous charges i.e. internet, phone etc. would not be reimbursed; Tickets will be issued considering the most direct and economical option and Consultants are not eligible for DSA;
  • Individuals working with institutions may also apply, contract would be issued in the name of institution for the specific services of individual;
  • Please note proposals without financial proposal will not be considered;
  • CV and Financial proposal have to be clubbed in one file for uploading. Complete  Proposal has to be sent online only;
  • The consultants must bring his/her own computing equipment.
