UNDP works in nearly 170 countries and territories, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities and build resilience in order to sustain development results. UNDP is continuing its work to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or Global Goals, as they help shape global sustainable development for the next 15 years.

UNDP’s Management Consulting Team is part of the Integrated Talent Management cluster in the Office of Human Resources, which is located at UNDP HQ. The MCT provides internal consulting services and organizational design quality assurance for UNDP globally. The intern will support the further development of content and marketing materials for UNDP’s change management services and knowledge products. The MCT is specifically looking for an intern with design knowledge and ability to develop visually compelling and professionalized products for all MCT content and templates.   

Devoirs et responsabilités

  • As part of the MCT unit, contribute to the team’s ongoing effort to create a high-quality professional look and feel in all knowledge products we produce, including;
  • Develop branding material including graphic templates for presentations and reports;
  • Create infographics presenting MCT analysis and marketing;
  • Develop graphical elements and multimedia content for new web-based content for inclusion in UNDP’s global knowledge management tool, the Toolkit for Managing Change.
  • Other tasks as assigned to support the work of the Management Consulting Team.

Qualifications et expériences requises

  • Enrolled in or within one year after graduation from a Master’s programme or in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme in the areas of graphic design, visual design, communications, journalism or a related field;
  • If pursuing their studies in a country where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, the candidate must have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution toward the completion of a degree. (If this applies to you, please explain further in your letter of application).

Skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in using vector and bitmap graphic design tools (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop) is mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience using DTP software (i.e. InDesign) is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of Web design, UX/UI design is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowledge and experience in using video editing tools (i.e. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is desirable but not mandatory
  • Experience in data journalism is desirable but not mandatory

Language:

  • Fluency in English;
  • Working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

Conditions of Internship:

Interns are not financially remunerated by UNDP. The costs associated must be borne by the nominating institution, related institution or government, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students; or by the student, who will have to obtain financing for subsistence and make her or his arrangements for travel, accommodation, visa, insurance, etc.

Candidates who are shortlisted for an interview will be asked to submit the following document prior to the interview:

  • Link to online portfolio (i.e Behance)
  • Official letter from the University confirming enrolment in a graduate-level (or equivalent) degree programme;
  • Copy of school transcript;
  • Letter of endorsement from a faculty member who has worked with the student in the recent past and who is knowledgeable on the student’s performance;
  • Copy and proof of medical insurance valid for the location in which the internship will be carried out (i.e. New York, USA).
