Under the guidance of the Communications Associate and overall supervision of the Management Support Unit (MSU) Team Leader, the MSU Communications Intern provides support services to ensure the effective implementation of the CO’s communication and advocacy strategies to increase the profile and awareness of UNDP’s programmes and agenda with partners, the media and the public.

 

The MSU Communications Intern works in close collaboration with the Management Support Unit, Programme and Operations teams in the Country Office (CO), and may be required to engage with staff and other UN Agencies, UNDP BRH, media, multilateral and bilateral donors and civil society.

Devoirs et responsabilités

Support to implementing the CO’s communication strategy, specifically on the following:

  • Gathering content and writing stories about UNDP-supported projects, for dissemination on the CO’s website and social media accounts;
  • Updating of communication materials focusing on producing multimedia products (graphic design/layout, infographics, videos, photos);
  • Providing logistical support in organizing events;
  • Updating databases/inventories (including contacts, publications and photos).

Qualifications et expériences requises

Education:

Applicants must meet one of the following academic requirements:

  • (a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • (b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);

  • (c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation. and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation. Preferably a degree in Journalism, Development Communication, Multimedia Studies, Communication Arts or any related field.

Experience:

  • Some experience in news, features, and business writing;
  • Developing and producing multimedia content (graphic design, photos, infographics, videos);
  • Social media accounts management and updating;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher) and other publications/graphics software.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in Filipino and English.
