UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women for a fully productive society; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

The Strategic Partnerships Division (SPD) works to strengthen UN Women’s position as a partner of choice for gender equality and the empowerment of women (GEWE). The Division does this by positioning GEWE in the intergovernmental and multilateral fora, and by engaging with private sector, corporations, foundations and individuals. A key premise for SPD is that engagement with partners should be complementary and synergistic, based on multiple aspects of partnerships, including knowledge exchange, policy enhancement, resource mobilization and advocacy.

As the lead for UN Women’s corporate engagement with the private sector, corporations, foundations and individuals  - both in terms of substantive/content component of partnerships and resource mobilization  - the Multi Stakeholder Partnerships and Advisory Services (MPAS) Section drives the range of UN Women’s special programmes (Unstereotype Alliance, Women’s Empowerment Principles, HeForShe and Global Innovation Coalition for Change) as well as the work with its National Committees and individual giving with the aim to achieve maximum global impact for gender equality and contribute to financial sustainability for UN Women.

Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Executive Director, the Chief of Multi Stakeholder Partnerships and Advisory Services (MPAS) leads several teams working within the framework of joint and clearly defined global strategy of UN Women’s engagement with the private sector. The Chief leads the development and manages the implementation of the strategy to ensure that UN Women develops and sustains high impact partnerships with a specific focus on resource mobilization. The Chief oversees the overall partnership portfolio and private sector relations, including the partnerships developed through the network of National Committees and the work related to individual and digital giving, and new advisory business lines developed with the private sector. The Chief also oversees UN Women’s efforts around the integration of Women’s Empowerment Principles through the various partnerships and initiatives UN Women undertakes.
