Antecedentes

 

The Swiss-UNDP project “Resilient, Inclusive Markets in Moldova” (PRIM) is set to contribute to the promotion of integrated approaches to inclusive and sustainable local economic development and employment creation, in partnership with ILO and SDC, targeting both local populations, as well as returning migrants and refugees.

As part of Outcome 1, policy and institutional frameworks create an empowering environment for inclusive and sustainable economic development in the targeted economic sectors.

Outcome 2 assumes that local/regional communities including private sector representatives, meaningfully cooperate in cluster formats to enhance value chains and improve their competitiveness.

As part of Outcome 3, the people of Moldova, especially women, youth, returning migrants and refugees, will benefit from improved economic opportunities in the pilot micro-regions.

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the staff members to which he/she is assigned, the intern is supposed to assist on a part-time basis in daily implementation of the tasks in the above-mentioned Units.

 

Who can apply?

This internship position seeks to target under-represented groups, primarily: persons with disabilities (of all types), people living with HIV, LGBTIQ people, ethno-linguistic minorities including ethnic Gagauz, Russians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, Roma, people of African descent, religious and other minorities, other under-represented groups. This is a temporary special measure.

 

Internship package and working conditions

The interested candidates shall submit the following package of documents:

  • Recent CV;
  • Completed Internship Application Form (attached below);
  • Motivation letter setting out the reasons why you are seeking an internship with UNDP and what is expected from the experience;
  • A copy of school transcript;
  • A letter of endorsement from a senior faculty member who has directly supervised you in the recent past and who is fully acquainted with your performance;
  • Copy of proof of medical insurance valid for Moldova;
  • Information on the special needs the person might have, such as reasonable accommodation at the workplace or any other specific needs.

Deberes y responsabilidades

Provide overall administrative support in organizing events, workshops, training courses/ field visits according to the Project Work Plan; 

Coordinate archiving of procurement and other operations files related to the projects’ implementation; 

Create and continuously update a database of project beneficiaries (with corresponding disaggregation); 

Liaise with service providers to establish meaningful and relevant partnerships for the implementation of the planned activities; 

Register incoming correspondence and support internal circulation of documents, related to the projects’ activities; 

Perform any other relevant logistical and administrative tasks, as requested by the Project Manager and/or Project Associate, for the successful implementation of the assignment.

Eligibility requirements 

Applicants to the UNDP internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.

Minimum qualifications / skills 

 

  • Good time management skills;
  • Computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel spreadsheet;
  • Working knowledge of both written and spoken English.
  • Working knowledge of Romanian and Russian is desirable
  • Basic financial/budgeting experience is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of archiving activities

 

Note: The intern will be provided with a fully equipped workplace and stipend and annual leave is granted, meeting the above criteria

An intern performing an internship using flexible working arrangements will only be paid a stipend, if eligible, if they are physically present in the workplace or office.

Upon completion of the internship, the intern receives a certificate from UNDP.
