Deberes y responsabilidades
Phase 1
- Review of previous and related coastal studies to provide information that may guide the current study;
- Sites’ physical conditions study;
- Geotechnical survey: a detailed investigation of the soil’s strength, composition, water content and other important physical properties of the soil for the purpose of determining the practicality of the proposed interventions for both Kololi and Tanji, especially the beach nourishment;
- Topographic survey: a detailed topographic survey at each site (Kololi and Tanji) to particularly determine surface flow directions for the purpose of erosion control from upland run-off;
- Sediment transport and longshore drift study particularly important for the laying of groynes at both locations;
- Hydrographic study;
- Bathymetric survey: a detailed bathymetric survey (including production of bathymetric maps) to particularly determine suitability of sea floor material for anchoring reef balls & possible identification of sand deposits for possible dredging and beach nourishment;
- Tidal and water levels study for the appropriate design of the various structures (reef balls, groynes & beach nourishment at Kololi and geotubes at Tanji) in this regard;
- Current and waves action study for the appropriate design of the various structures (reef balls, groynes & beach nourishment at Kololi and geotubes at Tanji) in this regard.
Designs & quantifications based on Phase I
- Provide detailed engineering specifications for each of reef balls, groynes & beach nourishment at Kololi and for geotubes and groynes at Tanji and produce a “hard engineering” overview acceptance project sites report;
- Provide detailed engineering designs for each of reef balls, groynes & beach nourishment at Kololi and for geotubes and groynes at Tanji and produce a detailed engineering report that specifies, among others, the types and quantities of material required in each case;
- Provide a detailed construction cost estimate for each of reef balls, groynes & beach nourishment at Kololi and for geotubes and groynes at Tanji;
- Provide a detailed routine maintenance cost estimate for the each of the reef balls, groynes & beach nourishment at Kololi and geotubes & groynes at Tanji.
